This past weekend we had our Junior Youth Summer Camp Grade 7 – 9. We went to Mooi Havens in Betty’s Bay. It was a great time to get to know our new Grade 7’s a little better, who have just joined us. We had great weather the whole camp and enjoyed some time on the beach, and playing volleyball, soccer and cricket at the camp site. Leighton Ronne was our Camp Speaker. He spoke to us on Assurance and we looked at: ‘How do I know my faith is the real deal?’ and ‘How do I know I can finish what I started?’. They were clear and easy to listen to. He was faithful to God’s Word and they were really challenging and encouraging all at the same time. We had Discussion Groups to really work out what that all meant for us in our own lives, quiet times where we could spend some time alone with God chatting to him and reading from his Bible, and Electives where we could choose if we wanted to go to a talk on Heaven, hell or Q & A. We enjoyed an ‘Amazing Grace’ team challenge with many obstacles and activities to get through. I am proud to say that my team, ‘the orange team’, won – and I assure you with no cheating on my part. Once again we enjoyed Uncle Brian and Aunty Beryl’s cooking and even had time for a Saturday Night Dance Battle. Even though the bus was a little delayed on the trip back it all added to a great camp and even more time to spend together.
